Leslie Gaworecki (work below and at and Marlo Saucedo will highlight local writers and poets in dichotomous and complementary individual and collaborative work, to introduce new events and faces to Sawyer Yards and vice-versa via their exhibit in The Silos at Sawyer Yards, Gallery 200 entitled Color: Story.

Gaworecki’s freely-formed art is emotion, light and color; Saucedo’s left-brained art is message, precision and detail. Together they’ll use this yin/yang plus a third artistic element: Houston’s storytellers, whose words will be part of, and inspiration for, every piece.

Gaworecki/Saucedo are currently working directly with Words & Art and with Sawyer Yards’ Writespace.

Gaworecki and Saucedo will present individual lectures and a joint tour of the show at an event held during the exhibit. A Poetry Slam will be held in the space during the show’s Opening; and a Reading by local authors will be held in the space at the show’s Closing event.

Written work toward exhibition creation, the author reading event, and the poetry slam event will be accepted between April 15th and June 1, 2018.  Watch this space for links and submission instructions. More information to follow!
